Amy K. Beaver, 55 of Byron passed away February 3, 2012. Amy was born on October, 8, 1956, in Rockford, IL, daughter to Robert E. and Harriet A. (Hunter) Johnson. Amy attended schools in Loves Park and Rockford before graduating from Harlem High School in 1974. She received two Associates Degree's in Arts in 1997 and 2006, while attending Rock Valley College.
Amy worked at Eclipse for ten years and was known as the "Voice of Eclipse." The Eclipse Family will miss her contagious laugh, big smile and kind words for everyone.
Amy enjoyed card making, stamping and gardening and was a member of the National Rifle Association and Pine Tree Pistol Club. She was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and celebrated 16 years of sobriety in 2011.
Amy is survived by her husband, Dallas; son, David Hardin; mother, Harriett A. Johnson; sisters, Susan Kyle, Lynn (Le) Denniston, Robyn Johnson, Jill (Neil) Chagnon; sister-in-law, Amanda (Al) Pauletto; honorary sister, Dawn; nieces and nephews, Robert (Paula) Kyle, Victoria Burchard, Laura Sosa, Madeline Johnson, Rebecca Chagnon, Juliette Chagnon, Jason Pauletto and Lori (Troy) Semenic; grandchildren, Cam Beaver, Max Beaver and Taylor Semenic. Amy leaves behind her beloved blue healer and constant shadow Ada Mae.
Predeceased by father.
Thank you to all the family and friends for their phone calls, visits and support during Amy's courageous two year battle with bladder cancer. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of Ogle County Serenity Hospice and the professional and compassionate care given to Amy, during her final weeks.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on February 18, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Klehm Arboretum, 2715 S. Main Street, Rockford, IL, 61102. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Diane Jochum officiating, with refreshments to follow.
