Hanson, Grace Marion O'Connor
Grace M. Hanson, age 87, loving wife of the late Bernard C. Hanson, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Illinois; loving mother of Philip(Catherine) Hanson, Janet Ahlgren & Thomas(Susan) Hanson, grandmother of the late Raymond Hanson, Jennifer Owen, Christina Hanson, Bridget(Harry IV) Lenahan, Ann(Matthew) Fick & Eric Hanson;great- grandmother of Connor Palakiko Lenahan. She was born in the Montclare neighborhood of Chicago, moved to River Grove, Illinois after marrying Bernard in 1942 & later resided in Northlake from 1955 to 1978 before moving to Aurora, Illinois. She worked at Evans Dairy Store in River Grove during World War II, at Mars Candy in Chicago & Beeline Fashions in Bensenville. She loved to travel the world visiting Australia, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, the Middle East, but she especially enjoyed Sante Fe & Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is remembered for her kindness & charity to all, her keen sense of humor, insight into people & a stunning baked corned beef prepared each St. Patrick's Day. At her request there will be no wake & a Memorial Mass will be said on Friday, February 17, 2012, 10:30a.m. at St. Rita of Cascia Church in Aurora, Illinois.
